Riverbed Refrain

I can’t escape the panther that stalks my steps
Living in the land of no regrets
And he chases me down
Marveling in a beautiful gown
At all I’m wont to wear
But I feel a little tear
In the fabric come undone
And he’s like the night to my sun
As he sings of things he knows not of
Causing confusion and calling it love
As his longing brings him to the brink
Like I was starling being urged to think
Then suddenly fallen from the sky
I wake up after I die
In a land I didn’t choose
It’s like walking in a new pair of shoes
