Light And Life

I have to love the man who saved my life
He took a breath and breathed in the light
And it’s textbook case, wanna be a wife
But I don’t know if that’s alright
Coz he showed me summer
He showed me seasons
He gave me love
I gave him reasons
And we both learned to multiply
And, you know, never say die
As the ache it comes in waves
He’s Superman, it’s days he saves
And I can’t ignite with anyone else
He showed me trauma and mental health
And I showed him strong and how to bear
The music when the fabric tear
And it’s oft the season to be making waves
I’ve written him down on page upon page
But I never come close to really say
He is my love, is that okay
Even if we are miles apart
He made the unquenchable start
Like the Divine made into form
I’m kept ‘neath a coat that is warm
Even on those freezing winter nights
He speaks a word and my heart ignites
To burn enough to keep the dark away
From the place by the trees where we stay

Salvation In The Stars

Looking for salvation in the stars
It’s like trying to round some prison bars
As they, adjacent, keep a defense
Til you’re hands and knees in the present tense
And do I confess
My wilderness and impress
Some secret subtlety afar
Oh, the world, how near you are
When you just take a glance
At the vulnerable in my stance
And I wish away
Tomorrow another yesterday
Don’t you see
That you were the ocean to me
And the sea at night
Oh, how it glitters in the moonlight
To reflect your face
Now forever is without a trace
Gone from these hands
I’m on the shore just pacing sand
As you glide effortlessly along another terrain
Have all my past lives been in vain
To bring me to this
A pair of lips that death might kiss
Someday or will
The power of life to kill
All that it breathes air into
And consciousness is quintessentially you
So you can’t lose it
But did I choose it
This marching band
There’s nothing I have really planned
Coz all falls away
And what you leave til another day
Gets left behind
They say I am out of my mind
But I think they’re wrong
I’m too deep in it and that’s my song
Can I hold the tune
I did when you walked in the room
And my heart hammered against my chest
The depth of wisdom that I invest
In you to be all you claim
Now it’s been years and you’re just a name
I click into
Tell me did I ever reach you
Or was it all just empty talk
The way you hold yourself when you walk
Like you’ve been punched
Something hits you and I can feel the crunch
As you double over side to side
But hell if I know you’re still alive
And kicking me somewhere under the seat
Why did heaven have us meet
If it was just to part
And you are the king of my heart

Supermassive

Overcoming all of her fallacies 
Only to soar into the fresh air
She’s a bird on the wing of all that’s there
And the sun it burns in its own sphere
Times have changed but something’s near
As everything just flows to the core
And I can feel free at the shore 
Of all that’s real and fresh and true 
Now don’t go saying that I impress you
When you know that you’re above the view
There is the many and the few
There is pristine and the dance
So would you take another chance
On all we didn’t get to be
If you look my way I’ll let you see

Epic Is A Four Letter Word

It just sounds like shit from my mouth

It always seems like I’m just trying it out
And why are you so monumental
When I am just shallow in my grave
Why are you a superhero
And I’m the one you didn’t save

Cause I’m trying to live without you
Why does every song ever written
Somehow seem to be about you
And I love you and I hate you
In the cradle you hold your head
Why was I the one to stop the bullet
I took the hit instead
And I am so thin on the ground
Just a scrawny little girl
You need a woman to hold your hand
I’m still living in my own world
That never perforates reality
I have to say I like it like that
You rock and roll your way out of town
