Stuff I Say To You

Stuff I say to you
I was watching the bird and it flew
Out the window from inside
And this landscape can’t hide
The shape of you from me
I loved you so I set you free
But you come back to be
As constant as a northern sea
In the winter of ill repute
And you’re more devastating
Than you are cute
But I like my men like thunderclouds
The rolling sound just makes me proud
To be standing under a western sky
And I have no fear over what will die
Coz something’s not passing
Constant true
As I revealed myself to you
In a winter past, long ago
But it’s just the start
Of the story, you know
On this journey to forever
The path winds but this endeavor
Keeps sailing through the storm
I would like to keep you warm

Vibe With Thirty

Is it okay that I vibe with thirty
Two now I’m in the scene
So many years
Since I woke the dream
Up from where she lay
On the floor
She thought she could worship
And adore
But I showed her the light that shine
All that is hers not mine
As catastrophic landed her there
Well, that along with meditative prayer
And the love almost beat
Her heart to death
As she swore
She would not forget
All that had come to pass
Impermanence cannot last
Amid the landscape of the true
Was I wrong to reveal it all to you
At so young an age
Get up from the ground and grab a page
Write it out
All that fear and all that doubt
Like spilled ink
Honey you don’t have to think
To know just what you are
I’m watching you through a star

Epic Is A Four Letter Word

Why is everything so perfect when you say it
It just sounds like shit from my mouth
Why do you have darkness down to a fine art
It always seems like I’m just trying it out
And why are you so monumental
When I am just shallow in my grave
Why are you a superhero
And I’m the one you didn’t save
If you could tell me that would really be great
Cause I’m trying to live without you
Why does every song ever written
Somehow seem to be about you
And I love you and I hate you
In the cradle you hold your head
Why was I the one to stop the bullet
I took the hit instead
And I am so thin on the ground
Just a scrawny little girl
You need a woman to hold your hand
I’m still living in my own world
That never perforates reality
I have to say I like it like that
You rock and roll your way out of town
Something tells me that you’ll be back

Front to Bottom

I didn’t want to admit you were right about me
Cause it hurt too much that you had seen the truth
And you were willing to give me all of you
In recompense for what had happened to me
And I said no
I can do it alone
I don’t need you, I don’t need anyone
I’m just fine
And it was sort of true but a lie at the time
Cause when you matched puzzle pieces right to the marks I had made on my skin
I said no, I don’t want to let you in
And when you said “I would do just about anything for you”,
I turned you away because I knew you would
And I would lose you some day one way or another
Through my fault or your own or death taking us under
And I couldn’t let it in
No, I couldn’t let it in
Cause a world without you does not exist
And I want to do more than merely subsist
And now you don’t love me cause I threw it away
Well you sorta do, in the back of your mind kind of way
Cause you love everyone, even though you hate them passionately
You just wanna grow into all you’re meant to be
And I know you will
Well you already have
Why does it feel so bad?

Beautiful Skies

I was raised in a land with beautiful skies
And got lost in a moment of heated goodbyes
But ever the optimist to shine on the age
The sun kisses the horizon each turn of a page
So walk down to the water with me for a stroll
As we watch the fish swim and the waves as they roll
As the little grass grows up all around
Here in this silence there isn’t a sound
And you can taste years and the weight of it all
From the height of your flight to the inevitable fall
Cause all things born of earth and all things born of time
Will return to the hearth of the fire sublime

Eternity

A beautiful disaster isn’t the word for you
But I can’t argue semantics because I am one too
And there are some songs that really fit our name
And playing you’s a joy cause you’re such a perfect game
But the nighttime intercedes in between our days
As you walk away from me in a myriad of ways
And you find your home in some other where
I’ve never been one to pretend I didn’t care
Because I do, I do and never will forget
The time we spent together, the time that we could yet
But if it is your will then I will let you go
It’s not like it is a choice but just so you will know
From now until forever you will be in my heart
We’re begun in an eternity that has no end or start

The Long Way Back

art_umbrella_rain_girl-wide

You walked me all the way back to my car
And left me there
With a hand on my shoulder
You uttered your goodbye
Permanent and forever
But made of such materials
Not built to last
The timber rotted in the rain
And the fragile frame of you
Soon fell asunder
In tears to echo the watered sky
And I can hear you cry
Over here from abroad
As I silently live out my penance
For a crime I did not commit
And you, beautiful you
Wish it undone
