Somewhere In The Garden

It turns out I like what trouble could be
Coz he walked in, now he’s talking to me
And I could be shy and walk away
And act like I’ve got nothing to say
And you’re captivating
But who are you dating
On the sly
He is a helluva guy
But there’s something about him that’s sweet and sincere
And I have come to hold him dear
Close to the heart in my chest
More intimate than all the rest
And they scream at me
“He doesn’t love you, why don’t you see”
But I’m willing to hold out hope
And learn how to cope
With the uncertainty
And the possibility
Of a lack of reciprocation
In my elation
I never thought to ask were you free
To spend eternity with me
