Loving Without Attachment

Can you love without attachment
I can feel the cords burn
Isn’t my time to take a turn
About the room and say
I love you, I hope you know, okay
Coz it all ends in death
And the greatest regret
In this life
Is that you’d settle for being a wife
And give up your liberation
For a man at the train station
With eyes like gold
But are you sold
And is freedom constrained
To open arms when it rained
Down on me
And eternity
Kissed my soul
You will never, ever grow old
Though the time to depart this earthly realm
Will come and like the helm
Of a great ship
You must be prepared to make your first trip
Across the water
Has sin caught her
Or does she rise above
Peace, as symbolised by a white dove
