Suspending Disbelief

I’m suspending disbelief
To hear what you’ve got to say to me
And you whisper in my ear
Try to induce a tear
But I ain’t crying anymore
Is that you knocking on my door
And if it is will I let you in
It is always the holy him
Rocking a beard and a pair of glasses
Oh, all the guys that he outclasses
With his shy and then so sure
And I’ve always been sorta pure
And I gotta say it’s always for you
I’ve got a bracelet I wanna give to you
As a token of my affection
So make a selection
It’s me on the end of the line
And you come back a thousand times
And I get the sense that you need
More than someone who can make you bleed
In just the right way
So hear what I gotta say
About love and it’s opposite
I’m so restless I can barely sit
And you’re the one in talking with
Some kind of cocaine music star
You are the king of my heart

Beautiful Skies

I was raised in a land with beautiful skies
And got lost in a moment of heated goodbyes
But ever the optimist to shine on the age
The sun kisses the horizon each turn of a page
So walk down to the water with me for a stroll
As we watch the fish swim and the waves as they roll
As the little grass grows up all around
Here in this silence there isn’t a sound
And you can taste years and the weight of it all
From the height of your flight to the inevitable fall
Cause all things born of earth and all things born of time
Will return to the hearth of the fire sublime
